Gyula Farkas

The founding art director, composer, conductor, music teacher and musician of the Rajkó Orchestra, with his unique musical method, and one of a kind instrumentation he has given wings for the orchestra to became world renown. Thanks to his personality, his method of teaching the so called Rajkó Method, was added to the UNESCO Cultural Heritage List in 2016, recognizing his outstanding artistic genius achievements.

Pál Szigeti

He established the Rajko Ensemble in 1952. Rajko has gained to be word famous with his leadership . In the years to come he has created 33 artistic groups with 1100 members and it has become one of Europe’s largest art assembles.

Tivadar Mészáros

After the death of Gyula Farkas. Mr Meszaros has taken the leadership of Rajko orchestras. Following the traditions, he continued leading Rajko Orchestra by his outstanding artistic knowledge. Tivadar Meszaros extended the repertoire with such musical genres that opened the way to the orchestra to new venues. As a result, Pope Benedict XVI invited the orchestra twice to the Vatican.

Béla Szirmai

Dancer and choreographer entered his name in the history of dance art. There was almost no theater in Hungary where he would not have been choreographed with great success. Later he became the head of Movement Department at University of Theatre and Film Arts. In his youth he was already the head of the Rajko dance ensemble in addition he was the choreographer for several decades. Thanks to his committed work the dance ensemble has already toured all around Europe and many countries overseas in the 1960 and 70’s. He has been keeping numerous choreographies of the band to this day with great success in the Strauss program.

Tibor Somogyi

He is the founder, choreographer and leader of our professional dancing ensemble. Before that he had been the choreographer and artistic director of Danube Art Ensemble. With all his energy and input he raised dancers to representatives of art of dance. His choreographies projected a glowing, pulsating, dynamic expression. Many of his students have become well-known dancers , dance teachers and choreographers.
